FIJI Scholarship
Zeta Chapter, Phi Gamma Delta
Indiana University
Strong academics hold the utmost priority at Fiji. We believe that a college
man’s primary responsibility is to obtain the best possible education. This
unique emphasis on performance in the classroom has resulted in outstanding
individual and chapter wide performance.
Zeta Fiji’s have finished FIRST among all fraternities for 23 out
of the last 25 semesters.
Zeta’s house GPA has also exceeded that of the university’s all men’s
average every semester for the last 50 years.
Phi Gamma Delta believes that a student's academic performance can, in many
cases, determine what opportunities will be available to him upon graduation and
a serious young man should therefore strive for excellence in education.
Consequently, academics are a serious area of endeavor for ZETA chapter.
Areas in which the fraternity is conducive to performance in the classroom.
- State-of-the art computer lab-15 brand new computers with access to all IU
systems, e-mail, and the Internet
- Wireless Internet Access throughout the House
- Five rooms designated exclusively for studying
- Study tables every night of the week
- The most important aspect: Other brothers willing and eager to
help.
Fiji also recognizes strong outstanding performance. Each year, both through
the international fraternity and the Zeta Scholarship fund, scholarships are
given to reward academic achievement.
Last year, over $20,000 worth of scholarships were awarded to individuals in
the house.
The International Fraternity awards each first year student who earns a 3.0
grade point average or above during his pledge period a $250 scholarship.
The Zeta House itself awards scholarships to all brothers, freshmen through
senior who achieve academic success.
Brothers who attain a GPA during a single semester of
- 3.3-3.5 are rewarded $100
- 3.5-3.75 are rewarded $250
- 3.75-3.9 are rewarded $375
- 3.9-4.0 are rewarded $500
Last year, the chapter house itself, through the generous funding of graduate
brothers, awarded over $16,000 to brothers in the house.
